The basic day-trip route
The Jeolla Line KTX from Yongsan Station reaches Jeonju in as little as 1 hour 23 minutes — typically around 1 hour 40. From Jeonju Station, take bus 119 from the Cheonmajung-gil stop to the Jeondong Cathedral–Hanok Village stop (₩1,650 with a transit card), or a taxi (base fare ₩4,300).

Traveling with a suitcase — three honest strategies
The honest answer: the best day-trip strategy is not bringing the suitcase to Jeonju at all. Pick by situation.
- ① Seoul accommodation still booked → leave it there. Free and foolproof
- ② Checked out + returning to Seoul tonight → store at a Seoul LIT partner before departure (9 stores — Jongno, City Hall, Hongdae and more, from ₩4,500/day)
- ③ Staying in Jeonju or moving on from there → bring it and drop it at Manchu at the village entrance
- Heads-up: Manchu opens at 12:00 on weekdays (11:00 weekends) — if you arrive in Jeonju in the morning, options ① and ② are the safe bets
Hanok Village, hands-free
With your bags at Manchu, Gyeonggijeon, Jeondong Cathedral and Pungnammun Gate are a 3-minute walk, Nambu Market 5 minutes, Gaengnidan-gil 7 — the whole downtown circuit on foot. If you plan to rent a hanbok, hands-free matters double: the village alleys are stone-paved and merciless on suitcase wheels.
On the way back, pick up before closing and catch an evening KTX.
