The terminal to Busan Station is a 10–15 minute walk on a covered deck. Buy a T-money card there for ₩4,000, then take Line 1 to Seomyeon, Gwangalli or Haeundae. If we could not verify it, it is not here.

    First, walk the pedestrian deck to Busan Station

    From the terminal, follow the Busan Port pedestrian deck and moving walkway to exit 10 of the station building, about 10 to 15 minutes. The path is fully separated from traffic, so a suitcase is no problem. Sort your transit card, cash and connections at Busan Station.

    Buy the card and top it up on the spot, in cash

    Storyway at Busan Station takes cash only, both for buying the card and for top-ups. No cash? Withdraw at an ATM inside the station first; machines marked "Global ATM" accept international cards.

    To the subway: connected by an underground passage

    Off the train, take the escalator down to B1. Follow the "도시철도 부산역 / Busan Metro" signs. The underground shopping arcade leads you straight to the Line 1 gates. No need to go outside.

    Going by subway: exits 1 to 8 all come out at the station square

    Exits 1 through 8 of the metro station all lead to the station square. None of them strand you on the wrong side. Come up anywhere and reorient from the square.

    Know the fare before you tap in

    The Busan metro charges by distance: zone 1 or zone 2. Single-ride ticket machines take cash only, one more reason to sort your T-money first. City buses also take T-money or cash only; international credit cards do not work.

First the walk to Busan Station, then Line 1. Every destination below starts from there.

Exit 10 of the station building → moving walkway → the Busan Port pedestrian deck → the terminal. It is a walkway separated from traffic, so it is safe with a suitcase, and the same route works in reverse.

Come out at exit 6, pass exit 10 of the station building and continue onto the pedestrian deck. With bags this is the easier route, and it is the same path whether you transfer to the metro or to KTX.

No transfers, which makes it the simplest destination from the terminal. Seomyeon is where Lines 1 and 2 meet, so many travellers drop their bags here and tour the rest of Busan.

Stay on the same Line 2 train toward Jangsan past Gwangan and you reach Haeundae. There is no LIT partner in Haeundae yet, so drop your bags in Seomyeon or Gwangalli on the way.

FAQ

How do I get from Busan Port International Passenger Terminal to Busan Station?

Walk. Exit 10 of the station building connects to a moving walkway and the Busan Port pedestrian deck, which leads right to the terminal, about 10–15 minutes each way, on a path separated from traffic, so a suitcase is fine. If you are coming from the metro instead, it is roughly a 20 minute walk from exit 6 of either Choryang or Busan Station on Line 1.

How do I get from Busan Port to Seomyeon, Gwangalli or Haeundae?

Walk to Busan Station first, then take Line 1 toward Nopo. Seomyeon is direct, with no transfer. For Gwangalli and Haeundae, transfer at Seomyeon to Line 2 toward Jangsan and ride to Gwangan or Haeundae.

Can I buy a T-money card at the ferry terminal?

Buy it at Busan Station instead: 5 convenience stores inside the station sell T-money for ₩4,000 plus whatever you load, and both the card and top-ups are cash only. Withdraw at a station ATM marked "Global ATM" if you have no won yet. The Busan metro then charges ₩1,600 for zone 1 (up to 10 km) and ₩1,800 for zone 2.

Do buses and taxis at Busan Port take foreign credit cards?

Buses do not. City buses take T-money or cash only. Routes 5-1·42·172 stop at the terminal at ₩1,550 with a transit card, and route 1004 costs ₩2,100. Taxis do take cards: the Busan mid-size base fare is ₩4,800 plus distance, and there is no tipping. Terminal information: 051-400-1200.

Where can I store luggage near Haeundae?

LIT does not have a partner in Haeundae yet, and we would rather say so than send you somewhere that does not exist. The closest options are on the way: Hoduga in Seomyeon, which needs no transfer from Busan Station, and Famous Benny or Paul’s Farm in Gwangalli. Storage is ₩4,500 per bag per day for small bags, ₩6,000 medium and ₩8,000 large, with loss and damage covered by LIT.
