    Exit to the station plaza and find the Cheonmajung-gil stop

    The city bus stop is on the boulevard (Cheonmajung-gil) right in front of Jeonju Station. Buses toward Hanok Village leave from here.

Gyeonggijeon Shrine

Home to the royal portrait of King Taejo, founder of the Joseon dynasty, and the natural starting point of a Hanok Village walk, and the street where you will see the most hanbok.

Jeondong Cathedral

A red-brick Romanesque cathedral completed in 1914. It sits at the Hanok Village entrance, the first thing you see stepping off the bus.

Nambu Market

Jeonju's flagship traditional market, just past Pungnammun Gate from the village. Local dishes like kongnamul gukbap (bean sprout soup) at market prices.

Gaengnidan-gil

On the other side of the old downtown, a cluster of cafes, restaurants and bars in backstreet alleys. Hanok Village is Jeonju by day; Gaengnidan-gil is Jeonju by night.

How much are Jeonju city buses, and does T-money work?

₩1,700 in cash or ₩1,650 with a transit card for adults. T-money and other nationwide Korean transit cards work on Jeonju buses, the same card you would use in Seoul or Busan.

Can I do a day trip to Jeonju from Seoul with a suitcase?

Yes. The KTX from Yongsan takes about 1.5 hours. The honest advice: if you keep your Seoul accommodation, leave the suitcase there and come hands-free. If you have already checked out, either store it at a LIT partner in Seoul before boarding, or bring it and drop it at Manchu at the Hanok Village entrance. Note that Manchu opens at 12:00 on weekdays (11:00 weekends), so store in Seoul if you arrive in the morning. Pick up before closing and catch your evening train.

Are there free lockers at Jeonju Hanok Village?

Yes. The Jeonju Tourist Information Center and the Hanok Village Tourist Information Center have ₩500 refundable-deposit lockers, and the Gyeonggijeon Travelers' Lounge has free ones, usable within the centers' hours (roughly 09:00–18:00). For a small bag on a well-timed visit they are perfectly fine. They are first-come-first-served though (they fill up early on weekends), and large suitcases may not fit. For a reserved spot, a big suitcase, a late pickup or coverage, Manchu at the village entrance is the safe choice.
