Gwangjang Market and Ikseondong: the worst alleys for a suitcase
At Gwangjang Market, the gap between food stalls barely fits two people side by side — and once a queue forms in front of a bindaetteok griddle, there is nowhere to park a suitcase. The hanok lanes of Ikseondong are narrower still, with uneven paving that catches wheels, and Insadong and Bukchon add slopes and stairs.
Coin lockers at Jongno 5-ga and Jongno 3-ga stations are squeezed by market crowds and night-tour visitors. Few neighborhoods change as much as Jongno does once your hands are free.
